REQUEST TO ENGLAND'S
CARD ARTIST
JACQUIE LAWSON

GIANT NATIONAL RECOVERY CARD

TO TIMOTHY AND FAMILY OVER PROPANE EXPLOSION KILLING CANINES IN PENNSYLVANIA AND CRITICALLY INJURING TIMOTHY IN HEROIC EFFORT TO RESCUE BURNED DOGS.

Hello Jacquie,

What eye enchanting cards you create!! I've enjoyed your fine point art and creativity for numerous occasions close to my heart.

As CEO of the National Cancer Society for Animals, I'd like to make a request. It would be a wonderful contribution to a family whose dad is in critical condition after he became HERO OF DOGS in a major news tragedy involving one of your fans, MARTHA STEWART.

Headlined this month in PEOPLE MAGAZINE and UNLEASHED MOUTH was a tragic propane accident involving one of Martha's Chows and 17 other canines. I, as a longstanding media professional, have featured Martha's creativity across the wires. This particular event has moved me to present a NATIONAL RECOVERY CARD to burn victim Timothy, the propane truck driver.

While on fire, he lifted dogs over a fence to their rescue!!

I have hundreds of Martha's fans who want me to present their names on a perpetual card to Timothy on my blog, representing the National Cancer Society for Animals. From there I will send it on to my national media connectors.

I've chosen you as collaborator to this project. Would you please help us bring joy to this family during a most challenging time in their lives?

We, as a national charity, ask you to contribute a card to our blog and the media that will feature a continuing roll call of names as they come. Timothy's recovery and his wife and children can only benefit from this universal lifting of spirits.

I would so much be thrilled if we could work together on this act of giving. The scope of this tragedy warrants the best of gift givers connecting with the best of heroes!

Most Sincerely,
Andrea Spencer
CEO /NCSA

HEADLINER.................................

A MAN NAMED TIMOTHY-----------

'HERO OF DOGS'
DESERVES BLUE RIBBON AS HUGE AS HIS HEART

Martha Stewart, animal advocate about to be awarded for such by the ASPCA, fell victim to a fire taking the life of her chow. Many other canines also perished in a kennel propane explosion in Pennsylvania this month (see March 9th post below).

A man named TIMOTHY rescued other dogs over a fence as he himself was on fire. This critically injured propane truck driver has become the HERO OF DOGS to many of us.

There will be a national card to him from Andrea and the Weimaraners, and the hundreds of well wishers who expressed condolences on THE MARTHA BLOG. We speak with Martha about Timothy and a rallying for him in the letter below.

-------------------------------))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Hi Martha!

I'm endeavoring to get a kindness for PROPANE INJURED TIMOTHY off of the ground.

The National Recovery Card described below is not a fund raiser as your other kind posts are. It is another form of giving.

It's simply a get well card to sustain Timothy's and his family's hopes that there are many, many of us who blogged you, who will continue to be there for them after the initial time of chaos.

There are many of your bloggers who have written me with EBULLIENT SUPPORT for this ongoing project! However, there are also many others who have blogged you that they care, but can not reach me to contribute their names since they have no web site for me to reach out to.

I hope my message below, rallying for Timothy's recovery through a card of grand proportion and inclusive of everyone, can be displayed as one more charitable post among others.

------------------------------------------------------

Perpetual Seed of Support

Each one of us is sowing seeds of some sort this spring . . .

. . . I would like to THANK ALL OF YOU who have contacted me about becoming a 'seed of recovery' for TIMOTHY, THE CRITICALLY INJURED HERO OF DOGS in the Chow kennel explosion.

This story, described on THE MARTHA BLOG within the entry 'a terrible event,' has moved me to create a NATIONAL RECOVERY CARD for Timothy and his family. I will continue to contact each one of you personally as an invitation to join the grand listing of well wishers.

The card will be highlighted on Andrea and the Weimaraners from the National Cancer Sociey for Animals, and go onward to its national connectors.

Most importantly, it will be from the 100's of caring bloggers from THE MARTHA BLOG, and hopefully from MARTHA herself!!

THIS PERPETUAL SEEDING OF SUPPORT WILL GROW TO ASSURE TIMOTHY AND HIS FAMILY THAT THERE IS NO POINT AT WHICH HEALING IS TO BE FORGOTTEN.

Let's get the garden growing, people! If I have not contacted you yet, PLEASE INCLUDE YOURSELVES AS THE SEEDLINGS FOR THIS CAUSE, and contact me!

Thank you,
Andrea and the Weimaraners

Professor to the World . . .

She died. She simply died.

I saw the last pulse vanish out of her arm as the veterinarian's needle extracted her life away.

Her name was Professor.

Her head dropped from my arms 10 years ago today. I am writing to you all between miracles and tears.

On this day I turn a story over to you all, a national story.

Stories by the Sky Full

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Throughout this new year, newspapers, magazines and every horn blowing media mouthpiece will call out, “Introducing Professor Zimbabweeps!”

The story of Professor, a throwaway dog turned international icon for miles upon miles of families worldwide, will thread through the media like the tail of a firecracker.

Story excerpts from New Delhi to Rome, where hands reach across oceans to hold hope together for thousands of animals gunned down by an insidious tormentor disease . . . . . . . . .

. . . . . . . my stories will be yours.

Hundreds Twitter to Martha Stewart in Tribute to Her Chow Killed in Propane Explosion

"The lines are jammed . . . I can't get through to her blog," one person said.

Hundreds of fans and animal lovers are deluging The Martha Blog in tribute, and in tears over an explosion that left her young Chow and other animals running with their coats on fire until they toppled.

A story in The Morning Call described the tragic event . . .

THE CALL --- A day after a propane explosion killed 15 show dogs in a Carbon County kennel, co-owner Karen Tracy mourned the passing of a 16th dog that died Saturday morning, and tearfully described the propane delivery driver as a ''hero.''

Badly burned in the explosion, the truck driver managed to first toss a cairn terrier named Chilli over the fence to safety before getting himself out of harm's way.

''That man is a hero,'' Tracy said. ''My heart goes out to his family.''

Timothy Kleinhagen of Summit Hill was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-

Cedar Crest where he was listed in critical condition Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.
He was filling the kennel's propane tank when the explosion occurred about 2:25 p.m. Friday. Fire officials have said a spark or static electricity could have ignited the fire, which sent flames 75 feet into the air and ripped through the pens at Pazzazz Pet Boarding kennel, near Beltzville State Park in Franklin Township.

In addition to the 15 dogs that died Friday, 13 dogs were taken two nearby animal hospitals. A 3-year-old chow chow named Shamrock was badly injured and didn't make it through the night, Tracy said. Six were released Saturday.

Creature Comforts of Saylorsburg was treating five of the dogs, most with second- or third-degree burns. Two were in critical condition Saturday, two were stable and ready to be transferred to another kennel and one will need skin grafts, said Dr. Karin Breitlauch, the veterinarian who owns Creature Comforts.

One of the dogs in critical condition sustained burns over 80 percent of her back, she said.

Like human burn victims, the dogs will get fluids, diuretics and antibiotics, Breitlauch said.

''Fortunately, they have very thick skin,'' she said, but added that for the dogs in critical condition, ''the next three or four days will be touch and go.''

Lehighton Animal Hospital is also treating some of the dogs.

A COMFORTING THOUGHT ON ANIMAL LOSS

THERE WILL BE HEALING,

AND THERE WILL BE FACES IN THE CLOUDS

AMONG SHOOTING STARS SO PROFUSE,

THAT WE WILL REVEL AT WHERE THESE FACES HAVE COME TO---
